But it seems that I may not have been clear enough that it was actually Sheila’s Birthday.

But no worries: Because she is damn old In a weird turn of events, it turns out that even Sheila forgot it was her Birthday yesterday! So you get a do over! Go visit her blog and wish her Happy Birthday!

But this is not a tech post.

Anyways, three years on WordPress and 857 posts later, here we are. Where is this thing going? Not sure. Is blogging dead? I don’t think so, I think blogging has changed. Is it for the better or for worst? Who could tell really.

The one thing I’m certain about is that I have a craving for creating. I want to create something good. I want to write gooder. I want to play more music. I may quit my job and open a bakery à la Duff, renovate my house à la DIY. I may start painting. Sky is the limit, really. Next stop, King of the Universe. Except I won’t go on a 12 month humanitarian mission in Africa. So I guess Africa is the limit, really.

I’m already the Mayor. How hard would it be to become the King?

I’m e-surrounded by people that are a constant source of inspiration. People like Dave2, MartyMankins and IronFist who just launched Thrice Fiction. People like Avitable, who as just started a stand-up comic career – yes, I’m calling it a career, you heard it here first! people Like Faiqa and Shiny who are breathing new life in the radio show / podcast scene.

EDIT: I knew I was going to forget something. I want to mention Megan with her amazing pictures.

My family and IRL friends are not bad either.

Where is this thing going? I’m not sure. But it’s going. I think if I can blog about Becky’s Butt, I can do anything. And if nothing else, I vow to make it entertaining and use a lot more italics.

In not-at-all related news, today is not just my Blogiversary, it’s also April Fool’s day. I have a knack for making special days fall on special days (it does make sense, trust me!), For example, my mom’s birthday falls on St-Patrick’s Day. Every year. I was conceived on Halloween – do the math, really – and I got married on Saint Catherine day.

Anyways.

Today being April Fool’s day, my CutieDaughter made her usual prank, sticking a piece of paper somewhere in my backpack.

Happy April Fool’s Day everyone. Happy Blogiversary to me.

Today is St-Patrick’s day. Today is also my mom’s Birthday. She turns one year older than last year. It’s always a struggle to post something either for my mom, or for my love of Guinness.

Happy Birthday Mom! XXXX

So just like last year, please wish her a happy birthday in the comments, tell her how awesome of a job she did raising the fine young man that my brother is (I also have an awesome sister but I can’t seem to find a way to insert her in a joke even two years later), send her virtual flowers, do a little dance.

Please refrain from “I’d hit that” kind of comments. Avitable’s already been there, done that. It’s really awkward for me to call him dad.

As for me, I’ll have half of the beers for my Mom, half because I’m Irish (only today).

So of course today, I’m hungover.

I wish I could party like I was 11 again.

There. On with the show:

On our last day in Quebec City we visited the Parc Aquarium du Québec. Because of the “du”, I had high expectations. It might not be obvious to my non French readind readers, but the difference between “de” and “du” is really important. You see, “Aquarium de Québec” would mean “Aquarium of the town of Quebec”, but “Aquarium du Québec” means “Aquarium of the whole province of Quebec”. I figured that if they bothered using the “du”, I was going to get quite a show.

I’d like to say that getting there was half the fun, but really it was more like 97% of the fun. Of course, I’m somewhat exaggerating, but I found that the state of disrepair of the different displays, combined with the cold weather and the crappy cafeteria food (I know, what did I expect, right?) made the whole experience meh.

I took this pictures at one of the fist displays, but it could’ve been any of them, really. Really.

I kept hitting the blue button, Matrix-style. No dice.

But, I smiled and played through the pain, and the kids had a pretty good time.
