Squash (not the vegetable)

I’ve started playing squash (not the vegetable) again.

This kind.

Not that one.

I made this post yesterday before my game, because odds are I probably can’t walk, sit, stand, lay down, drive, operate heavy machinery, talk or type right now.

Now the immature freak in me wonders what would happen if you used the racquet above to hit the veggie below.

If you do decide to do that, can you video it?

    Thank you, Mr Sombre

Hey brother, are you on a secret quest to do the http://www.triathlongatineau.ca/tri/ avec moi?

  3. suze says:

How was the squash? Hope you had fun.

I’m so pathetique….I have to go Google what Squash is exactly.
    The sport, not the vegetable.

Never played it myself….not too popular around these parts I guess. I’d like to try someday though.

  6. You should totally put a twist on the game a squash and call it squash casserole.

Yeah, that was a lame comment. Back to my coffee…

  7. LeSombre says:

@MartyMankins: It would probably break the racquet, and get me thrown out of the gym. Definitely video-worthy. ;-)

@THE BROTHER: I would like to say yes, but the reality is that I probably can’t do that. Ever. :-/

@Suze: It was tasty! Yes, I had some fun considering I played like a guy who hasn’t played squash in over a year and can’t really run all that fast. My squash partner is very patient. He even let me win one. :-)

@Hilly: I had to do the same when I came back from playing! LOL!

@HockeyManDad: The mistake I made was thinking that it would be like tennis. Turns out it’s more like Arkanoid on acid. I was great at Arkanoid, but terrible at acid. ;-P

@CMG: I like coffee! I put a twist on mine and call it Single Malt scotch. :-)

  8. Alyss says:

I have never seen a black squash!
I guess butternut squash is something a little bit different; the flesh looks similar…

  9. what marty said.
    (hope you aren’t terribly sore!)

  10. Ren says:

I skipped racquetball this week due to a lingering cold. I’ve played handball and seen people play squash, but never played it myself. Hope you had a great time!

So, squash is like racquetball? Because racquetball is fun!
    How’d it go?

  12. Lynda says:

So, how did it go? I’m looking to try new sports. And travel more. And meet someone I know online but haven’t met in person. So, I should come up and visit you, and we can go play squash. Does LW like shopping?

Also, I looked at the link from The Brother and the English side was still in French. I was amused.

    What is arkanoid?

  14. LeSombre says:

@Alyss: I think there’s like a million kinds of squashes. Ever the sasquatch is part of that family.

@Hello Haha Narf: What I said to Marty. I’m kinda sore. :???:

    @Ren: Yes, it was fun.

@Sybil Law: Yup, it’s similar (I heard it supposed to be faster). And I didn’t die, so I consider that a win.

@Lynda: That sounds like an awesome plan! I’m sure LW could be convinced to shop. ;-) My brother is a little strange. It runs in the family.

@SheilaCSR: Nope, I’m okay. I feel old. You don’t know what Arkanoid is? Damn.

Two Thanksgivings ago (the November kind) I played basketball at the Y with some friends. I hurt so bad for so long afterwards that I’ve opted to skip the game the last two years.

(We went out for beers several hours after the game and it was all I could do to walk to the bathroom each time I had to go.)
