tYotP: G

This post is part of the Year of the Purge : A to Z series. Every other Sunday, I’ll get rid of something starting with the letter A and working my way to the letter Z by the end of December. This week I’m tackling G.

Guinness

So are you getting rid of this through consumption or through the trash receptacle???

It better be through consumption… or we shall henceforth call you Canadia’s Blasphemer.

I like @NYCWD’s idea – purging it out of society and drinking it yourself so other people don’t have to.

You’re getting rid of it? Say it ain’t so!

Dites moi il n’est pas vrai.

Is it just Guinness, or all beers — It seems like that would have been a “b” item. Is it because you hope to help out the Canadian economy and drink local beer (btw, I found Moosehead the other day — it’s the first I’ve had of it in years … likely decades.)

Or, is it via the method NYCD suggests? Via a urinal?

If you’re tossing it out — and you have a boatload to get rid of — e-mail me and I’ll forward my mailing address.

  6. LeSombre says:

@NYCWD: Well, I’m not getting rid of current stock of Guinness, I’m not buying more. No Guinness was harmed in the making of that entry!

@Whall: Unfortunately, that wouldn’t be the healthiest choice at this point… ;-)

    @Sybil Law: I agree!

@B.E. Earl: Oh it is so.

@Delmer: Well, it’s just Guinness, but I’m really a beer snob and never drank anything else. Well, I had a few Stella or Heineken, but only if they had no Guinness. And I don’t have any stock to get rid of. That’s another thing, I very rarely keep Guinness at home.

  7. Gah! My mouth literally dropped when I saw this!

But, ya know, this will really help with Letter E Purging.*

*Please note that purging is a bad when you combine it with the process of binging.

  9. LeSombre says:

@SheilaCSR: I hope it will, but I’m really not doing this to help with the letter E. I actually went to a St-Patrick’s party, had two Guinness and “didn’t feel it”. I’ll post more on that during the week, I’m sure. ;-)

  10. suze says:

Are you trying to hurt yourself? Because this is a lot to give up just on it’s own, let alone with A-Z added on there. (Especially D…I can’t give up D and it’s the only one I’m trying to get rid of at the moment…)

suze recently blogged so, here’s the thing…

  11. LeSombre says:

@Suze: I’m not trying to hurt myself. And I’m doing fine with the coffee thing. I really just had one small Vanillatte since I quit. And remember, I really just quit Second Cup and Starbucks high price coffees.
