Hey Lookadat! A post!

They finally had the Internet going in my new office.

Well, half of the Internet really. My second computer is not on the network at this point. Apparently, the technicians who put the wires in had a little misadventure with the wires. The wire is blue in my office, and gray at the switch in the basement. Which probably means someone has a gray wire in their office and it’s connected to my second computer.

Our lab is getting slowly rebuilt, but since they forgot to order our computer holders, everything is “temporarily wired”. Also, electricity has to reach to reach the computers and monitors too. ;-)

All that moving and unpacking is draining me. I went to bed at 8:30 last night. I can’t remember last time that happened.

All of these things are part of the fun stuff of moving your office to a new building. When I say new building, I mean new to us, as this building is scheduled for demolition in two and a half years.

Yes, that means we’ll go through this again in a couple of years. Joy.

It’s also why you’re getting a noon post instead of a midnight post. ;-)

  3. I’m glad I didn’t waste my time with those lost dog posters then.

    That would’ve been embarrassing.

    @Sybil Law: Amen to that!

    @THE BROTHER: Tu me craques en haut.

    @SheilaCSR: I first read “those hot dogs posters”. Not that’s embarrassing.

    You need computer holders to function? And I though you were joking and making some broad joke that would end up referring to some glorified cup holders.

    @Mimi: Hey welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere! We don’t need holders to function. But we’ll have to re-wire everything once we get them.
